Gankogui ~ Percussion Description/Styles: West African two-part bell (high low) made of blacksmith iron. Played with a stick. Usually plays breaks/calls and/or polyrhythm with in a drum ensemble.

CENTRAL AMERICA
Primero ~ Hand Drum Ideal as a lead drum for classroom teachers, performers and facilitators Description/Styles: Traditional a Garifuna drum carved from a single mahogany log, covered with has a single membrane of goat or dear skin stretched over it. There are tuning pegs on the exterior inserted between the ropes, which connect to the rim. On the top of the drum, three guitar strings or fish line which produced a unique sound similarto the snare drums. The Primero within a traditional ensemble directs the musical changes and calls the songs for the others’ response.
Segunda ~ Hand Drum Ideal as a lead drum for classroom teachers, performers and facilitators Description/Styles: Traditional a Garifuna drum carved from a single mahogany log, covered with has a single membrane of goat or dear skin stretched over it. There are tuning pegs on the exterior inserted between the ropes, which connect to the rim. On the top of the drum, three rope with knots a tied inch apart that creates a base sounds. The Segundo drum is the base drum within a traditional ensemble that holds the tempo and rhythm.
